FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are some answers to the odd question we get. If you'd like to ask us something, please send us an email, or give a holler on our message boards.

How do I get to participate in the next SPOILER?
We've been getting loads of email from people wanting to participate, and unfortunately, we can only give out a handful of spots for each SPOILER event. If you'd like a spot, please send us a film you made in the past. Be sure to email us for instructions on where to send it to. We are most interested in seeing comedy shorts. It is way more important to send in a funny film than one that showcases your skills with a camera. After each SPOILER event, the SPOILER staff will screen all of the films submitted for consideration and vote on who to give spots to for the next SPOILER.

Why do I see so many of the same people in each lineup?
The regulars you see in each SPOILER lineup are the people working behind the scenes doing the graphic design, DVD packaging, animation, promotion, and other tasks. All of these folks volunteer a lot of their time to help out SPOILER, so it's only fair that they get a spot each time.

I made a film for a previous SPOILER. Can I participate again?
Though we always try to free up a few spots each time for returning filmmakers, we'd like to give as many new folks a spot as we can. If you're interested in participating again, be sure to shoot us an email when we're recruiting filmmakers, and if you have any, send us any comedy shorts you've made in the interim.

Why are the same actors in so many films?
The SPOILER staff are all close friends, and as a result, we tend to cast each other in each of our films.

Who are the core SPOILER staff?
Drew Prochaska - Producer, Organizer, and Webmaster
Aaron Wilson - Graphic Design and DVD Authoring
Jonpaul Riggle - Animator and Graphic Design

Hey! SPOILER sounds a lot like the _____ Festival!
You're right. There are loads of festivals with similar concepts in cities everywhere. Though SPOILER's concept isn't completely original, we think we put on a hell of a show. In addition to the nice DVDs we put out, each show has a bunch of original SPOILER animation and some pretty killer visuals to check out. We also steer clear of treating each event like a traditional screening by hosting the event at a bar or club rather than a movie theater. We like it to feel more like a social event than a film festival. And, okay ... we're drunks.

I live in Kuala Lumpur and I'm 9 years old, can I participate?
We're very sorry for this, but we'd really rather give spots to filmmakers who will be able to attend the event. Only filmmakers in the New York City area are elligible to participate, and though we heartily support underaged drinking, we really need for everyone participating to be over 21. Our apologies. Update: if we've booked an all-ages venue, disregard the age limit.
